Hiking Tip: Dalfazer Waterfall

This 9.2-kilometer, moderately difficult loop hike begins at the Achensee Atoll in Maurach. From there, the trail leads through Buchau, passing through dense forest and hairpin turns, to the Dalfazer Waterfall. It continues via the Teisslalm to the Dalfaz Alm, which offers stunning views. The return trip follows the same route. This varied four-hour hike is ideal for nature lovers.

Hiking Tip: Weißenbachsattel

This 14-kilometer, moderately difficult loop trail starts in Maurach at the Seespitz parking lot. Following the Panoramaweg trail, the route leads through the Weißenbachtal valley to the Weißenbachalm and on to the Weißenbachsattel. After a short stretch through the forest, you reach the Bärenbadalm. The return leg of this varied five-and-a-half-hour hike follows a leisurely forest path down to Lake Achensee and back to Maurach.

Hiking Tip: Bärenkopf and Zwölferkopf

The 12.7-kilometer loop trail starts at the Karwendel Bergbahnen in Pertisau. Passing the Rodelhütte, you’ll reach the Bärenbadalm at 1,457 meters and continue on to the summit of the Bärenkopf at 1,991 meters. The return route leads either to the cable car at the Zwölferkopf or back along the same path. Allow just under six hours for this varied hike, which is sure to amaze you with its panoramic views.

Karwendel Mountain Railway in Summer

The Karwendel Bergbahnen takes you comfortably to the Zwölferkopf hiking paradise, where various high-altitude trails and the panoramic views of Achensee promise unique moments in nature. High above Pertisau, you’ll find an ideal area for activities such as hiking, mountaineering, mountain biking, and paragliding. This high-altitude location is also perfect for relaxing and recharging your batteries in the fresh mountain air. Above all, however, an impressive panorama awaits you, making your visit to the Zwölferkopf an unforgettable experience.

Rofan Seilbahn in Summer

The Rofan Seilbahn makes it especially easy to start your mountain adventure, as it takes you comfortably to the hiking area on the sunny side of the Rofan Mountains. From the valley station in Maurach, you’ll reach an altitude of 1,840 meters in just a few minutes—the perfect starting point for fantastic hikes. Over 150 kilometers of well-maintained and marked trails offer a variety of routes for every skill level.
