Bike Tip: Buchau – Gramai Alm – Gernalm
This 32.9-kilometer loop trail, rated as easy, starts and ends at the Atoll Achensee parking lot in Maurach and leads along Lake Achensee to Pertisau and into the Karwendel valleys. Passing the Karwendel Bergbahnen, the route goes via the Falzturnalm and Gramai Alm to the Gern Alm. With 540 meters of elevation gain and loss, the route is perfect for relaxed rides with stunning panoramic views during a cycling vacation in Tyrol. The return route follows the same path back down into the valley.
Bike Tip: Bärenbadalm
The tour to the Bärenbadalm starts in Pertisau at the Karwendel Bergbahnen parking lot. The route winds through the Tristenautal valley, passing the impressive Tristenkopf. After a climb through the Hörndlgraben, you’ll reach the Bärenbadalm, a mountain hut open to the public, at an elevation of 1,457 meters. The 6.9-kilometer route, with 510 meters of elevation gain, offers an ideal blend of athletic challenge and natural beauty during a cycling vacation in Tyrol.
Bike Tip: Panoramic Trail
The Panoramic Trail lives up to its name and begins in Pertisau. From there, it winds its way via the Bärenbadalm along forest trails through the Gufelwald into the Tristenau Valley. After crossing the Tristenau Stream, the trail continues past the Karwendeltäler toll booth and the Karwendel Bergbahnen. The 11.6-kilometer route, with 280 meters of elevation gain, leads along Achensee back to the starting point. This picturesque tour is perfect for anyone looking to experience a varied biking vacation in Tyrol.
