Rofan Nature Trail

The Rofan Nature Trail is a sustainable destination on Lake Achensee that offers a unique way to experience the impressive diversity of the alpine landscape. Whether in summer or winter, this nature trail provides valuable insights into nature and demonstrates how people, animals, and the environment can coexist in harmony.

In summer, the approximately two-kilometer-long trail at Lake Achensee invites visitors to discover the alpine flora and fauna. Along the path, which begins near the top station of the Rofan Cable Car, interactive information boards provide fascinating insights into the mountain world—from majestic peaks and blooming alpine meadows to the respectful treatment of grazing livestock and wildlife.

In winter, the nature trail transforms into the ORTOVOX Rofan Ski Touring Trail, offering ski tourers and snowshoers valuable tips for safe behavior in alpine terrain. Here, visitors learn at seven stations how to properly use avalanche transceivers, shovels, and probes, as well as important basics of avalanche safety.
