The Alpenrose's respect for the environment
This is how we combine eco-friendliness and healthy holidays
The Alpenrose is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Tyrol – nestled between Lake Achen, the mountain ranges of the Rofan and the Karwendel Alpine Park, a nature conservation area that crosses borders. Our membership of Best Wellness Hotels Austria group also represents our commitment towards maintaining environmental awareness. It therefore goes without saying that we are always in tune with the needs of the wider environment.
From the region, for our guests
Our kitchen team always gives preference to products from the surrounding region and we know many of our food suppliers personally. We are delighted to have been awarded the AMA Seal of Quality (AMA = Austrian Farm Products), which indicates that the quality of our food has been verified. Many local joiners, master carpenters, bricklayers, painters and other craftsmen worked on the furnishing of our hotel, because this means we can receivethe best of service at a fair price . We have been working with most of our suppliers and service providers for years now, which goes to show the high esteem we hold them in.
By using alpienne we are utilise the 'Kraft der Alpen' 100 % pure and natural cosmetics range of products that have been designed using knowledge that is hundreds of years old. In Tyrol, this range of cosmetics for caring for and beautifying face, hair and body has being enhanced and expanded all the time. We are proud to use these products in the Alpenrose. WithSusanne Kaufmann organic treats we offer a line of cosmetics and wellness range that offers top-of-the range products for the most discerning users. The fine herbal extracts, finest oils and highly active plant essences used in these products originate from a small factory in the Bregenz Forest. The 'healing gift of the sea' is how another Tyrolean natural product used here in the Alpenrose is known: because of its high naturally bound sulphur content, Tiroler Steinöl rock oil has a beneficial and nurturing effect on the skin, hair and joints as well as on the musculoskeletal system.
When guests come here by train we pick them up from Jenbach train station. Guests arriving by car can make use of our free underground parking. If guests want to travel around during their holiday they have free access to an electric car as well as morethan 60 bicycles and mountain bikes, including electric bikes. Then there's our free shuttle service for going to the golf course and for making one's way to organised walks and excursions. For trips out into the wider region around the Alpenrose, we recommend using the regional bus, which travels at hourly intervals and can be used without charge by all guests at the hotel. It's not only you who can take a holiday at the Alpenrose – your car can too!
Where possible, the hotel is lit using LED or other energy-saving lamps. Your key card controls the lighting in your room; in other words the lights in the room function when there is a guest inside. Our warm water is provided by our solar power system while electricity generation is supported by our own combined heat and power plant.
We place great emphasis onhygiene and cleanlinessbut we leave it up our guests to decide whether or not their bath and hand towels should be changed every day. Similarly, we change the bed linen every three daysin order to avoid unnecessary use of water and energy. And speaking of dirty linen: we use biodegradable detergents in our laundry. Furthermore, thanks to the region's Alpine climate, we can do without air-conditioning systems that consume lots of energy.
Waste is not always waste
That's why weseparate our rubbish here. Paper, plastic, glass, biowaste and special waste are all collected and disposed of separately. In addition, all our employees receive appropriate training on how to avoid creating waste in all parts of the hotel. Waste minimisation is also the reason why we do not have portion packs at our buffets.
A big thank you to our guests
The Alpenrose's guests play a significant role in helping meet our natural need for careful use of resources – by not using too much water, not letting taps run or by taking a shower instead of having a full bath. Our guests decide themselves how often the linen should be changed, they like driving our electric car, riding our bikes or taking the regional bus that operates in the area and are happy to leave their car in our parking garage, as they know it will be safe there. Our guests can give valuable advice too – we have received a tip or two from them on what we could all do differently for the sake of the environment.
